Elliott grew up in Perth, Western Australia where his life revolved around playing baseball. He played at the highest level achievable in the state, but it wasn't a reality to make it to the big-time, especially in Perth. So, Elliott decided to move to where the action was at its greatest, Sydney. After playing a couple of seasons in Sydney & dabbling in the acting along-side baseball, he decided on a working holiday to the USA in the pursuit of sport.
Elliott spent a lot of time working in the USA on two separate occasions in 2002 & 2003 for summer camps teaching baseball & other activities to kids. Whilst travelling in America, he attended pro tryouts with MLB clubs & a college in Boston. He gained a positive angle of himself with regards to his playing ability & talent. He was offered an opportunity to play for a Division 1 College but NCAA rules restricted him from attending & playing. Due to a troubling injury, Elliott decided to call it quits on a professional career in baseball, for now! & take his life in another direction. He returned to Oz in December of 2003.
For half of 2004, Elliott cruised in & out of career ideas including taking up acting again. He spent a lot of time working with other actors, attending classes at the Fremantle TV Institute & shooting short films. He attended a seminar on casting in Australia for TV productions where he found his drive & his passion. He wanted to get involved in the acting life more. Elliott met his girlfriend Annalisa at this casting workshop & decided to get involved with her company ACT (Actors Coming Together, a drop in workshop initiative for actors in Perth).
In 2004, Elliott & Annalisa decided to take the acting further & so moved to Los Angeles chasing answers & to find out about the acting life in Hollywood. The trip turned into 12 months in which they returned to Oz with a new found love for the craft. The last couple of years have been spent getting acting work & building up a portfolio to return to LA.
In 2007, Elliott picked up various projects including the lead role in a Volvo sponsored TVC for the Asthma Foundation & directed by Marc Furmie. It was definitely a confidence booster & may be the stepping stone for a positive move forward in the acting life.
2009 has become a year of self development and self promotion for Elliott taking on Executive Producing & fully financing a short film (18mins) with partner, Annalisa Pansini. The film is ‘Denouement’. Production started in January with filming commencing mid March. Elliott and Annalisa starred in the film along with a support cast including Barry Williams, Leonine Smith & Tiarnie Coupland to fill out the other main characters. The film has since been submitted to many film festivals worldwide earning Denouement some prestigious awards including BEST DRAMA, BEST SOUNDTRACK & an HONORARY award at West Hollywood Int’l Film Festival and BEST INTERNATIONAL FILM at SoCal Independent Film Festival. Both festivals are in Los Angeles. This is an amazing result for a couple endeavoured to make their 1st film and create their own work. It is a great short film and can be viewed on the films website. www.denouementshortfilm.com.
